Cheryl Cole and the other celebrities climbing Mount Kilimajaro have already raised their target of £1 million for Comic Relief.
The team of climbers – which includes Kimberley Walsh, Gary Barlow, Fearne Cotton, Ronan Keating, Alesha Dixon, Denise Van Outen, Ben Shephard and Chris Moyles - were all thrilled at the news their efforts were raking in so much cash and have since made it to ‘high camp’ on the mountain.
Gary said “I am utterly overwhelmed at the generosity of the public. We’re all near to reaching mental and physical exhaustion up here so to know that everyone is behind us and giving whatever they can is just so humbling. Knowing that we’ve raised this fantastic amount of money in cash strapped times is the push we need to get us to that summit!“.

Tearful and angry Cheryl Cole tore into English & Chelsea football star Ashley Cole yesterday in a furious phone call at 16,000 ft up Kilimanjaro.
The Girls Aloud babe was livid that he had not only disgraced himself by being arrested for being drunk and disorderly, but he also broke a solemn promise not to go out boozing with his teammates while she was away.
Ashley Cole made the ‘no clubbing’ promise after he was accused on cheating on her with blonde hairdresser Aimee Walton last year. Cheryl still hasn’t fully got over his playing away.
She is currently on her fifth day of her gruelling trek up the African mountain with other celebrities in aid of Comic Relief – this left him in no doubt how she felt about him going back on his word.

Girls Aloud babe Cheryl Cole has found the altitude of the Mount Kilimanjaro trek makes her extremely emotional. The X Factor judge and her Girls Aloud pal Kimberley Walsh are currently 3 days into their trek to raise money for Comic Relief, and have revealed they got really upset after seeing a man collapse from altitude sickness.
Tearful Cheryl said: “He looked scared, really frightened. It really shook me up, shook all of us up. You feel really strange at this altitude anyway, emotional and strange – then to see that really got to us.“
Kimberley added: “This is hard, the walking is tough, but the altitude makes you feel so different. It was great to climb so high today but to see that man looking so panicked was horrible. I’m so glad we are all here to support one another, it would be impossible otherwise.“

The wife to Football star Ashley Cole says she is keen to start a family, but at the moment is focusing on her fledgling career.
She tells More! magazine: “I’m so happy right now and we do really want a family, but not now. We’re so young and we’ve got so much of our lives to enjoy.“
“Right now, I seriously couldn’t ask for more in my life,” she adds. “It just goes to show you can have low times, but things will always get better if you keep your head down, work hard and keep believing in what you think is right.“

As Girls Aloud get their breaths back after winning their much-deserved Brit Award, an anonymous source behind Girls Aloud has told a tabloid that American Domination is next on their to-do list.
After the 5-babes signing a three-album deal with Fascination records – which will land the girls a pay rise – record company bosses are priming Cheryl Cole, 25, Nadine Coyle, 23, and co for a stateside assault.
“Cheryl is opening lots of doors for us and The Promise is doing really well in US nightclubs,” a source says, adding that it’s now down to Cheryl to persuade the rest of the girls that 2010 is the year for the band’s global domination.
If anyone can persuade them, it’s our Chezza, shes a national treasure and we don’t want them heading to the states!
