Hundreds of fans turning up to watch the first X Factor auditions with an audience were left angry yesterday as they were turned away from the London venue, despite having had tickets.
Show bosses handed out 5,000 FREE tickets for the try-outs audience, but there was only 4,000 seats available at the ExCel Centre in London. Furious Dave Shields, 26, of Basildon said: “Me and my mates took the day off work to come and we were turned away.”
Fans of the show were warned though that seats would be given on a first-come first-served basis. But they blasted the shows organiser, Applausestore for oversubscribing the event, which saw Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and fellow judges take hopefuls through their paces.
Another disappointed fan, who asked not to be named said: “I queued for four hours. They just want the event to look exciting with hordes of people desperate to get in.”

The X Factor judging panel smiled bravely yesterday as the first X Factor audition to be filmed in front of a live audience kicked off. Thousands turned up to the London venue to watch fans in the first-round try-outs, and had no fears about making their own views on contestants known.
Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh watched hundreds of wannabes strut their stuff at London’s ExCel centre.
The X Factor auditions were divided into two shows, with each drawing crowds of 2,000 people. Try-outs for the rest of the UK will also feature live audiences after Simon Cowell and his show executives decided to replicate the buzz created by Britain’s Got Talent audiences.
An insider at the auditions said: “It felt more like a concert.” Meanwhile, ITV 2′s Xtra Factor host Holly Willoughby looked absolutely stunning despite giving birth to her ..read more
Unfortunately for some people who have already auditioned for the new series of X Factor, they will need to return to audition again due to an X Factor filming cock-up.
The first wannabes performed two weeks ago when auditions kicked off in Glasgow, but show executives have decided auditions will be in front of an audience, which means the ITV1 talent show will return to Scotland so the first auditions match those in the rest of the UK.
Show judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh will travel to re-shoot the show in a few weeks time. Last night, a source from the show said: “We are still fine-tuning our plans, but we aim to be back up in Scotland at the end of next month.“
“We are working out how we are going to do it, but it does look like ..read more
Despite all of Cheryl Cole‘s style awards, the pop star babe is planning a style overhaul. The Girls Aloud singer is reportedly planning a radical change of image after becoming worried about being upstaged by fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, who debuted an edgier look at the shows first auditions last week.
A source from the show said: “Cheryl was taken aback when she first saw Dannii’s new look. She knew that she’d had a new haircut but was shocked when she saw Dannii’s complete style makeover. Its a total departure for her – and she looks great.“
Cheryl wants something a bit sharper now. She’s telling people she wants to ‘de-Barbie’ herself. Cheryl is now planning to update her style ahead of the British TV series’ return in August, and is demanding a new make-up artist.
The source added: “She has already consulted ..read more
Ashley Cole is secretly planning to dazzle his gorgeous wife Cheryl Cole on holiday, with a bespoke piece of jewellery worth tens of thousands of pounds.
The premiership footballers and his Girls Aloud singer missus are in the south of France with Man City’s Wayne Bridge and his fiancee Vanessa Perroncel on a romantic holiday.
Ashley has been bragging to his friends that he’s had a one-off Cartier bit of bling which he will present to Cheryl and the last day of their break. And a Chelsea insider has said: “She’s been rushed off hr feet for the last year – Ashley wants to show how proud he is of her achievments.“
And Cheryl isnt the only one receiving gifts. As we reported earlier this week, Cheryl splashed out £14,000 on a mini Hummer car for Ashley, and spent a further £5,000 blinging it up.
