Earlier today we published news of Ashley Cole Speeding at 104mph last year, with details on his defence in court.
The Chelsea footballer, who did not attend court for his trial, was caught speeding at 104mph in his black Lamborghini Gallardo in Kingston last year. Ashley Cole denied the charge, claiming he was being chased by paparazzi at the time. When stopped by police, he claimed he was only doing 80mph.
But in the last 30 minutes Ashley Cole was found guilty of speeding. Judith Jewell, prosecuting told the court: “We find that we were convinced enough by the evidence given that he was travelling at 104mph. Our reasons are that we feel that the evidence of the police officer were credible, and we feel entitled to believe that the equipment was operating properly.“
Ashley Cole’s sentencing was adjourned until the end of January so that he can be present in court. Ms Jewell did, however warn Cole’s legal team that the footballer could be banned from driving.
As I pointed out at the end of my last article, Ashley Cole has a habit of denying something when he is caught out, and later admitting it when enough evidence is presented to him. Unfortunately for Mr Cole, he was unable to buy his way out of this one, and the court found him guilty. He will be sentenced on January 29th 2010. We will, of course, keep you updated.
Unlucky Ashley. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer fellow!!
