Ashley Cole to Get Lifetime Gagging Order in Cheryl Cole’s Divorce Terms

Another day, another story relating to the on-going Cheryl Cole Divorce news. Although divorce proceedings haven’t been initiated, Cheryl Cole has been talking with lawyers about how to move forward.

And it’s revealed today that she has allegedly issued Ashley with a string of extraordinary demands as part of her divorce terms. High on the list is a stipulation that Ashley doesn’t attempt to contact Cheryl for 6 months after the divorce. He’ll also have to agree to a life-long gagging order preventing him from ever revealing anything about their relationship.

Top divorce layer Helen Ward has drawn up the ‘Heads of Agreement’ document; It gives the disgraced England and Chelsea footballer a maximum of seven days to respond. The document also makes clear that Cheryl doesn’t want a penny of his £10 million fortune – after-all, she’s worth £10 million – and is prepared to offer him £3 million of her own cash to buy out his share of their mansion.

Cheryl Cole wants the divorce formalised and made final as quickly as possible. The dossier demands that Ashley:

• Agrees to a divorce immediately as the marriage has irretrievably broken down.
• Will not contact, call or text Cheryl for six months after the divorce has been finalised.
• Agrees to a lifetime gagging order banning him from talking about their relationship in the future.
• Lets her keep the £6 million mansion – in return for buying his share of the lavish home for £3 million in cash.

The only concession that Cheryl is willing to grant Ashley – who still thinks he can win her over – is that she doesn’t want any money from him, despite his cheating with 5 women. Rather than go through a bitter and expensive divorce trial, Cheryl wants a clean split where all parties are agreed as soon as possible.

As a sign of goodwill, Cheryl has agreed to cite “unreasonable behaviour” rather than “adultery” as grounds for divorce. She hopes that Ashley will also let her have full-custody of her two dogs.

A source closed to the Coles said: “Cheryl does not want a single thing from Ashley except his signature on the divorce agreement. She just wants him to leave her alone, accept it is over and for them both to move on. After all she’s been through, Cheryl just wants to walk away with her half and for the divorce to be as painless as possible. Cheryl isn’t out for revenge and she has no desire to humiliate Ashley further.“

Independent lawyer Mark Stephens has looked over the divorce and said: “It’s incredibly rare for someone to demand that there be no contact between the couple after the divorce. Where it does occur is when there has been infidelity because one partner maybe controlling or trying to get in touch to make amends. Despite the large sums of money involved, it will be relatively straight forward if he agrees to the demands. There are no children involved, so this could all be done and dusted very quickly.“

Ashley cole earns around £6 million a year, while Cheryl takes home around £3 million a year. The couples mansion in Surrey is their main matrimonial asset. With nine bedrooms and a gym, the home they bought for £3.5 million two years ago is now worth £6 million – which is why Cheryl is willing to pay £3 million to buy Ashley out.
