Despite the rumours that Girls Aloud have split up, a lot of people still don’t realise the move is a ‘temporary split’ while each of the members pursue solo projects.
But today we got word that Girls Aloud are planning to reform early next year, with an album planned for release in the summer.
One of the groups best songwriters and producers, Brian Higgins is already penning tracks for the sexy five-some. Kimberley told Digital Spy: “He’ll be writing already. He’ll have carried on writing even just when we finished our last album, so hopefully we’ll get in the studio next year – summer, hopefully.”

Girls Aloud recently recorded a hit which is to be released later this month on a special compilation CD by HMV.
Girls Aloud, The Saturday and Sugababes have all contributed cover versions for the album, which will be released by music retailer HMV on October 26th 2009.
‘My Inspiration‘ is the name of the disk, and its format is one where popular recording artists of today, perform a cover version of a track which inspired them most in their careers.
Girls Aloud recorded their own version of ‘Broken Strings’ by James Morrisson, which is a hit they performed on their sold-out Out of Control Tour earlier this year.
Sugababes recorded a Stevie Wonder track, ‘For Once In My Life’, which they recorded prior to the departure of founding member Keisha Buchanan recently. The Saturdays have included their recent cover of ‘Beggin’.

The five Girls Aloud beauties are currently on a 12 month ‘temporary split’ while they each pursue solo projects. The girls agreed to a gig supporting Coldplay at Wembley Stadium while they were on their Out of Control Tour earlier this year.
Just a few days ago the girls got together for their final rehearsals first time in months, and had to be told off on a number of occasions for gossiping. Their choreographer also had to ban mobile phones from rehearsals so the girls would concentrate. Nadine Coyle said: “We felt like a bunch of naughty school girls.“

Just three or four months ago, our very own Cheryl Cole was on tour with her Girls Aloud bandmates, as the fivesome worked their way around the country on their biggest tour yet.
It was also to be the last show for Girls Aloud before they all took a ‘temporary split’ from the band while they each pursue their own solo career’s.
