She may not have quite cut it in the USA, but Cheryl Cole has been welcomed back to Britain with open arms.
The Newcastle-born singer has a legion of fans around the country who are delighted that she is able to keep developing her career in the public eye rather than try and make it in the States. Cole has been in the spotlight for nearly a decade now, since she was selected to join pop group Girls Aloud.
Think about the other celebrities who rose to prominence 10 years ago, and how few of them have been able to progress their careers and branch out into other areas like Cheryl has. She might have started out being purely a singer, but she is now also know as a songwriter, dancer and model.

The British version of “The X Factor” is definitely missing one person – singer and former judge Cheryl Cole. According to reports fans of Cheryl being on “The X Factor” showed their support for her by chanting “Bring Back Cheryl.” It is reported that this took place at the Manchester audition. Tulisa Contostavlos who replaced Cheryl as a judge on the show was literally in tears when she heard the chants, a report has said.
As if that was not enough, it is also reported that Tulisa was also booed and heckled when she criticized one of the singers with harsh words.
“X FactorUSA” judge Nicole Scherzinger who replaced fired judge and singer Cheryl Cole, has been seen taking a few fashion style notes from Cheryl’s wardrobe. According to reports, Nicole showed up at an “X Factor” audition inMiami,Floridawearing Cheryl’s now infamous colours of purple and orange. Wearing a more toned down version of the colours Nicole impressed the crowd in a stunning orange top and purple mini skirt. Critics are saying that the colours that Nicole wore seemed to be a final blow to Cheryl since it was also speculated that she was fired for her terrible wardrobe choices.
Louis Walsh of “X Factor UK” has reportedly said that singer Cheryl Cole is sensitive. Louis was quoted as saying that although Cheryl is tough she still has a sensitive side. He told one reporter “I got to know the real Cheryl. I thought it would work for her in America. It wasn’t anyone’s fault it didn’t. He also added that being in the US was like being in “a different planet” for Cheryl and that she’s not ask tough as people think. He also reportedly said that Cheryl’s reasons for not returning to “X Factor UK” could have been because she didn’t want to take a step backwards.
Really? Well now there’s a surprise. Could we not have worked that one out ages ago? To say that estimates reckon that less than 20% of Americans own a passport, and many of that number are foreign born, tells us just how insular the country is with the majority never experiencing travel abroad.
Ignorance about the UK is astounding as well – it may sound like a cliché to be asked by an American if you know the only other English person they have ever met, but it really does happen. They think the country is tiny and of course everyone knows everyone else like in a quaint little village, aaah how naïve. To try and explain the notable differences in accents between cities which are actually very near to each other, relatively speaking – think Newcastle/Liverpool/Birmingham – would just boggle the brain.
