While half the country have their sights on the World Cup in Africa, and Ashley Cole attempts to do something which can make up for all his bad press recently, his soon-to-be ex-wife Cheryl Cole was today working hard at the second audition recording for the new series of The X Factor, which returns to our screens later this year.
As Cheryl stepped out of her plush car, a huge crowd of screaming fans were there to welcome the judge to the LG Arena in Birmingham. The Girls Aloud singer flashed her pearly whites for the cameras, gave some autographs, took some pictures with the fans, before heading inside the arena to start work with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and guest judge Natalie Imbruglia.

It’s that time of year again. In just a few short months, The X Factor is due back on our screens, but filming for the new show started yesterday in Glasgow.
The X Factor is back, which means it’s time to start our weekly Cheryl vs …. blog posts, inwhich you compare how Cheryl looks alongside another female judge! Usually it would be Cheryl vs Dannii, but Dannii is currently on maternity leave, so each week during the audition stages of the show, there will be a guest judge filling the hole.
On the very first audition shows in Glasgow yesterday, Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh welcomed former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell to join them on the judging panel.

Fresh off her very first solo tour supporting the Black Eyed Peas, Cheryl Cole joined Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and guest-judge Geri Halliwell this morning as she kicked off the 2010 series of The X Factor with auditions in Glasgow.
Sporting a very sexy leopard print dress and a pair of £1,000 Christian Louboutin lizard and python platform sandals, the star was escorted by armed-guard through Glasgow airport, as shown in the picture below.
Geri Halliwell is stepping in for Dannii Minogue, who will be spending the audition parts of the series on maternity leave. Dannii Minogue took to her twitter page today to say: “Go Geri! Give ‘em some ‘spice’ at The X Factor auditions in Glasgow today. Good luck to everyone who’s auditing.“

After it became public that Cheryl Cole has finally filed divorce papers with the High Court in London earlier this week, the rumour mill has already kicked in that Cheryl is set to leave the UK for a life in the US, where Simon Cowell is supposedly ”close” in convincing her to become a judge on his new TV show, The X Factor US.
In the divorce papers, the Girls Aloud singer has cited ‘unreasonable behaviour’ as the grounds for divorce, after Ashley Cole was found out to be cheating on her for the second time, with upto 5 separate women. The generous X Factor judge has even said Ashley can keep the couples £6 million mansion, and doesn’t want a penny of his money, despite reports she was keen on keeping her house.

Cheryl Cole’s X Factor boss and friend, Simon Cowell has urged her to reduce her hectic work schedule, saying he’s concerned for her health.
The Girls Aloud singer has thrown herself into work since her split from Ashley in February, following allegations of infidelity. In the last few months, Cheryl has been on a European promotion tour, was ill with bronchitis, has had to deal with media scrutiny, and recently went on tour with the Black Eyed Peas.
While Simon Cowell thinks Cheryl’s work ethic is admirable, he is concerned she hasn’t confronted her personal problems. Cheryl is due to start work on the next series of The X Factor in the next few weeks, and he’s worried she is not adequately prepared for it.
