Girls Aloud is preparing to unveil a new Christmas single, so the “Call My Name” singer has put her own plans on hold for the band. That won’t be that bad for her career, as her last single didn’t make it to the Top 10 list.
The former X Factor judge announced in that her new track, will be her latest venture from her, “A Million Lights” solo album, but now it looks her solo career will back track for a while, for Girls Aloud’s 10th reunion anniversary.
A source said, “Cheryl originally planned for her solo material to coincide with the Girls Aloud promo schedule. That way, it was thought they would cross-advertise each other. Unfortunately, it just felt a bit confusing to have both going on at once.”
The source continues, “After the girls’ single lost out to Olly Murs in the race for No.1 and Cheryl’s single failed to reach the top 10, it was decided to focus all the attention on Girls Aloud for the time being.”
“They might reschedule it for some time in March, after the girls’ tour, but there is no date set at the moment,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Girls Aloud released a new music video of their latest ballad, “Beautiful ’Cause You Love Me”, with Cheryl and her bandmates, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts all looking pretty and fresh faced in the video.
Girls Aloud are schedules to perform at the Jingle Bell Ball this weekend at London’s O2 Arena, before embarking on a 20-day tour starting in February.
