Cheryl Cole has the Fear Factor

Sexy X Factor judge Cheryl Cole doesn’t come across as one who gets nervous very easily, but she’s reportedly excited but nervous over her upcoming performance on The X Factor live shows.

Chery’s currently is in talks with show bosses as she prepares to showcase her debut solo single on The X Factor. This will be her first public performance without her Girls Aloud bandmates.

And in case she’s put off by facing comments from the rest of her judging panel, she can rest easy, as Simon, Dannii and Louis all support her solo venture.

Although the prospect of singing solo in front of a studio audience may seem daunting to Cheryl, it wont be the first time she’s had to do it. Cheryl won her place in Girls Aloud on a show which was based on the same format as The X Factor.

“It’s a no-brainer for Cheryl to launch her solo career on The X Factor. When she told Simon her album was due out next month, he said she must do it on the show. Girls Aloud performed last year, but this will be a totally different experience for Cheryl, she wont have the others for support,” a source said.

The source continued: “She is nervous because she will be performing for her peers – and there is always the fear that Simon may say something catty. But so far he has been nothing but supportive. Cheryl can do no wrong in his eyes and he wouldn’t want to humiliate her. It’s a safe environment for her debut and they will want her to look outstanding.“

Cheryl Cole has said in a recent interview: “I understand how the contestants are feeling – especially when they’re singing in front of us. And this year in front of a live audience.” And of course, last years winner, Alexandra Burke will also get her chance to perform on the live shows, as have previous winners on past shows.

It’ll also be interesting to see who wins in the chart battle, as Cheryl Cole and Alexandra Burke’s albums will go head-to-head in the charts, as both have albums due out in the same month.

“It will be interesting to see who gets the most viewers. This has never happened before so it’ll be strange seeing them going head to head. They aren’t keen on competing. They want each other to do well,” said an industry insider.
