Cheryl Cole Lands in Hot Water over Strictly Row

27/09/2009 in News by Melisa

Cheryl Cole, Alesha Dixon, Strictly RowCheryl Cole has recently landed in hot water with her boss, Simon Cowell for defending Alesha Dixon from X Factor rival, Strictly Come Dancing.

The Girls Aloud singer jumped to the defence of Alesha Dixon, who has recently been criticised for her bland opinions, and lack of dance expertise on the hit BBC ballroom dancing show.

Simon Cowell pulled Cheryl to one side, and told her she shouldn’t be giving the rival program any publicity, and asked to keep out of any rows on the rival talent show.

An insider at The X Factor said: “Simon’s very much of the opinion of lettings ‘Strictly’ get on with it. He knows he’s got the best show on TV and what they do is their own business. He wants everyone connected with the show to be pulling in the same direction and not getting distracted over the backlash with Alesha Dixon.

The source continued: “Simon would rather Cheryl spoke about The X Factor. After all, if she talks about Strictly Come Dancing, all she is doing is giving the rival show some free publicity.

While defending Alesha, Cheryl recently said: “She is a really strong woman. I think she is well qualified and I wish her the best of luck and hopes it all backs off for her.

Was Simon Cowell correct to pull Cheryl to one side? Is Cheryl Cole not allowed the right to free speech?
