All round stunner Angelina Jolie was today named the Beauty Icon of The Decade, in a new poll which was commissioned by Superdrug.
The poll attracted over 3,000 entries, and named celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce and many more as Beauty Icons.
Steve Jebson, director at Superdrug said: ”Angelina Jolie is not a conventional beauty but her strong character shines through her fabulous features to give her a unique standing in the beauty world. It is great to see that the list is packed with women of all ages and colouring in the top twenty, from the ageless beauty Joanna Lumley to new national sweet heart Cheryl Cole.”
Although Cheryl Cole didn’t top the poll, she did come in at an impressive fifth place, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightly, Beyonce Knowles, Liv Tyler and Halle Berry in 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10th places respectively.
Other stars to feature in the top 20 include Titanic star Kate Winslet, Transformer beauty Megan Fox and This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby.
A spokesman for Superdrug added: “This is the third time we have run an annual poll to find the face of the year, with previous winners including Cheryl Cole and Keira Knightley. This year to celebrate the new decade we decided to look past the face du jour and see who has really struck a beauty chord. But the message from our stores for 2010 is you don’t have to be a film star or celebrity to be a beauty icon.
”Every single woman in Britain can walk into their local Superdrug and pick up products that will give them the confidence to turn heads on the high street. Unfortunately, we can’t promise that any of them will end up marrying Brad Pitt.”
So did Angelina Jolie deserve her place at the top of the poll, or should our Cheryl Cole of topped it for the second year running?
