The X Factor judge shot the new music video in England’s south coast with prominent director Sophie Muller, who also helmed her “Promise This” video.
The video is certainly different from her past ones. It is very simple and understated, yet beautiful. Far from her ultra-glam beauty shots, the video features Cheryl as some sort of a little mermaid hugging seaweeds and moving around with her fins.
After the runaway success of the first single off her new album, which became the biggest selling commercial single of the year in the country, “The Flood” has a lot to answer for. The video will certainly help its sales when it becomes officially available on January 3 of next year. If it hits number one, it will be the 27-year-old’s third single to hit the chart summit.
