Cheryl Cole Payrise ‘Not a Done Deal’

Cheryl Cole Insiders at The X Factor have claimed that Cheryl Cole‘s pay rise to over £1 million is “not a done deal“.

We reported yesterday that the Girls Aloud singer would be the only ITV star who would get a salary increase this year due to serious cutbacks at ITV.

Simon Cowell is also said to be desperate to ensure that Cheryl returns to the judging panel and has offered her over £1 million to secure her services for 2009.

However, producers have been instructed by ITV boss Michael Grade to enforce a 20% cut across all departments.

Cheryl, who was reportedly paid £820,000 for her work on the show last year, is in talks to land £1.1 million to resume her role on The X Factor.

A source told The Sun: “Cheryl knows she is a big hit so she’ll negotiate hard. There is talk she could get £1 million, but things are tight at ITV so it’s not a done deal by any stretch.

A recent report in The People claimed that X Factor host Dermot O’Leary was facing a pay cut and claimed that there would be no extra money for Dannii Minogue.

A source said: “Cheryl will be the only person to come out of this with more money. She’s the golden girl – everything will be done to keep her.
