This is a big turnaround after the “Call My Name” singer fell out with the 54-year-old music guru, when she was axed from the US version of the show in 2011. But after mending their differences the two are now speaking to each other regularly, and now Simon is considering her to join on the revamped 2014 season of the show into the best one.
A TV insider said that Simon wants Cheryl to join him on the judging panel once again, because he considers the two of them as a “dream team”. Over the years, the show was very successful because of them, and Simon believes that it will be an amazing comeback for both of them, the TV insider added.
The X Factor’s ratings are currently down because of rival show “Strictly Come Dancing” on BBC1, which is pulling more viewers. And now Simon is apparently doing everything he can to take the show on the top again.
The source continued that Simon has been always been very fond of Cheryl, even calling her one of the most beautiful women he has ever met. Cheryl also attracts headlines and will get people talking about The X Factor again.
However, nothing is confirmed yet, and talks are still going on, while Simon is focusing for the rest of the year.
Meanwhile, Cheryl has taken some time apart from showbiz after performing at the last Girls Aloud reunion tour earlier this year. She also had a giant rose tattoo all over her buttocks (which generated a lot of criticism) and split up from her boyfriend Tre Holloway of 14 months, because of their struggles on maintaining a long distance relationship.
Cheryl spends most of her time in London, while 28-year-old dancer Tre stays in Los Angeles.
