Cheryl Cole said Ashley Cole had ‘mental breakdown’ after divorce

Cheryl Cole claims that her former husband Ashley Cole after divorcing him became so distraught that he suffered a “mental breakdown” and told his friends that he “didn’t want to be here anymore”.

The “Call My Name” divorced the England and Chelsea footballer in 2010 after it was revealed that Ashley cheated on her with several women.

After the divorce it was reported that Ashley was struggling to cope with it and Cheryl got so concerned when she learnt that his football club offered him to pay for his therapy after being diagnosed for depression.

Cheryl wrote in her newly launched, “Cheryl:My Story”, her autobiography, “If I thought I was cracking up, people were telling me that Ashley was in an even worse state. Cheryl, it’s terrifying,’ one friend said, and what she described made it sound like Ashley was going through a mental breakdown.”

“He’s literally talking nonsense, he’s got a beard and he’s smoking and drinking loads.’ Somebody else told me that Ashley had said something like, ‘I don’t want to be here anymore. I didn’t believe he was seriously suicidal, but I was relieved to also hear that the club was trying to get him some help.”

The 29-year-old, Girls Aloud singer is currently dating US dancer, Tre Holloway.
