The 31-year-old Girls Aloud singer married the 33-year-old French restaurateur at a small and low profile wedding in the Caribbean island of Mustique on July 7. She announced the news by posting a picture of her £300,000 wedding ring on Instagram. Only four witnesses were present at her wedding, which included her mom Joan Callaghan and her personal assistant Lily England. But now she’s planning a larger event with family and friends this week.
A source said that Cheryl wants to share her happiness with those closest to her life and will be having party at some time later this week. The source also said she won’t be having another ceremony or renewing her wedding vows as reported. She even won’t wear a wedding dress.
The Call My Name singer is so busy that ever since she went back home, she hasn’t had any time to everyone. So this party will be the perfect opportunity for her and Jean-Bernard to catch up with their dearest and nearest ones, the source added.
Contrary to most reports that Cheryl and Jean-Bernard took the plunge too fast after been dating for only three months, the source clarified that her romance hasn’t been as fast as most people thought because she has known Jean-Bernard since 2013.
The source said they actually got the opportunity to know each other at the end of last year, when Cheryl was in South Africa, but that time they were just friends only. They got together at the beginning of this year.
Meanwhile, Cheryl’s marriage with Jean-Bernard isn’t official yet as it hasn’t been registered, because officials in the Caribbean island’s births, marriages and deaths department allegedly don’t recognize all the listed names for Jean-Bernard, who happens to be listed as “Jean-Bernard Justin Antoine Aime Bastien Thierry”, in the marriage certificate.
This is Cheryl’s second marriage after her divorce from English footballer Ashley Cole in 2010. Before her marriage to Jean-Bernard, she was in a relationship with her backup dancer Tre Holloway. The two split up last summer.
Cheryl is all set up to make a comeback as a judge once again for the next season of The X Factor this year.
