The rumour mill is spinning again, and if reports are to be believed, our Cheryl Cole is set to appear on ‘Dancing With The Stars‘ in America, with rumoured boyfriend, Derek Hough as her dance partner.
If the producers of the popular show can secure Cheryl, it will be a ratings goldmine! Fresh from a season which saw Z-Listers like Kate Gosselin appear, getting somebody like Cheryl would be a huge win for the show. ABC bosses have apparently “informally approached” X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, who will star alongside Derek.
Cheryl’s camp are reportedly receptive to the idea, keeping in mind she wants to break the states with her solo career. “Her US team think it will be a great move for her and increase her profile Stateside. Partnering her with Derek too would be a masterstroke and they want her to give it serious thought,” a source told the Daily Mail.
Cheryl Cole made headlines earlier this year when news broke she’d called time on her marriage with Ashley after allegations of infidelity on his part. She is currently filming the new series of The X Factor, which hits screens this summer. Derek won the last season of Dancing With The Stars with his partner, Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger.
If Cheryl does sign up to the show, it’s likely to go out in 2011, which gives food for thought over the ongoing question on if when Girls Aloud are likely to reform. They were originally scheduled back into the studio this Summer, but plans were put off after the girls were too busy with their respective solo projects. Nothing was confirmed, but it was widely assumed the group would join forces again early in 2011, with an album release set for Easter.
There’s also the ongoing rumours on Cheryl joining forces with Simon Cowell’s new show, The X Factor US, with filming expected to take place around the same time as Dancing With The Stars, so if Cheryl’s schedule is anything to go by, she doesn’t have much room for any big appearances.

I think the whole relationship Cheryl & Derek have is a whole publicity stunt. Too contrived from the beginning to be real and why would it be a ratings winner as Cheryl is not known in the US & Derek is taking season 11 off & backing out of several commitments he had in the states. Julianne could return as she kept herself in the public eye but so far this summer Derek has been in hiding. Is he embarrassed about his relationship with Cheryl? What's going on. Derek show yourself in the US and be proud of your new relationship or get out of it if you are not happy. He has many fans in the US who admire his professional abilities & w/the right management could go far.

It would be a ratings winner in respect that all Cheryl fans in the UK would tune in to watch such a show, likely adding millions of extra viewers to an already huge program!!

Cheryl have no time to do it,she will be in Uk until December and the rehersal start in December too,and in January to March,she will be in Europe to promote her new album,as it said before,it's just Pr stunt to promote each others,nothing more,there is no possibilities she will do it.

I agree with the Anonymous poster. Derek certainly DOES act embarrassed to be seen with Cheryl. If he is so in love with her, why does he look miserable? As far as her being on DWTS, no one in the US even knows who she is. I see a nightmare waiting to happen.
Also agree that he is being very, very foolish about his promising careeri in the US. Is he going to follow Cheryl around being her gofer. Very nice life you've chosen for yourself Derek. Thought you were smarter than that.
