Cheryl Cole to Duet with Snow Patrol at BBC Charity Gig

Girls Aloud turned solo singer Cheryl Cole is set to duet with Snow Patrol for a special Children In Need charity gig which is to be aired on BBC1.

The sexy singer is to perform Snow Patrol’s ‘Set the Fire to the Third Bar‘ from their Eyes Open album. Frontman Gary Lightbody said the band will be rehearsing with Cheryl on Wednesday.

Gary explained: “Wednesday we have to stop to rehearse with the lovely Cheryl Cole for the Children in Need gig the night after. Because everyone doing that gig had to duet with someone else from the gig. Everyone gets a partner, it was like getting a partner at school. We got the prettiest girl in the class.“

Set the Third Fire to the Bar’s female vocals were originally performed by Martha Wainwright, and Gary said that people were a little shocked that they had teamed up with Cheryl Cole. “People have raised an eyebrow now and again when we’ve mentioned we’re doing it with Cheryl Cole but it’s going to be a really interesting experience,” he said.

“Cheryl said ‘What song do you want to do?’ and we said that, and she went away and listened to it. I think she’d only heard a couple of our singles. She got back straight away and said ‘yeah, I’m up for it.’ Hats off to her.“

Other acts taking part in the charity gig include Muse, take That, Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey and Dizzee Rascal.
