Cheryl Cole Twitter Account Suspended

For Cheryl Cole, it was all a big headache. She found herself in a situation where there was an account on twitter.com which was in her name and had over 30,000 followers. So whats the problem, i hear you ask? Well that comes in the form of the account featuring links to kinky sex websites. And when your a celebrity, you cant have your name tarnished by these fake accounts.

The fake page is said to have duped other celebrities including Radio 1 DJ, Chris Moyles, and TV star Stephen Fry. The one-line-bio on the fake page described Cheryl Cole to be a “Singer, Dancer, Judge and Climber – in that order!!“

Moyles fell for it after he saw the page announce “Cheryl Cole is now on Twitter!!!”. He immediately sent her a message, and got one back in reply. The tricksters behind the fake page are said to have fooled more than 30,000 other ‘Twitterers’ who followed the posts avidly. But they were more than a little shocked when they followed a link supposedly posted by Cheryl which directed users to a BeNaughty website for swingers.

The site boasted: “At BeNaughty you can find and meet horny females, males and wild couples to chat with” – But the whole incident left Girls Aloud babe Cheryl Cole a little red-faced with anger after she learnt about it. She is quoted as telling a national tabloid: “It’s nothing to do with me“. And Cheryl Cole’s spokesman has clarified that she doesn’t even have an account with the social networking site. “Cheryl has not got a Twitter page. This is a total fake,” he said.
