X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is reportedly the latest celebrity to have a fake Twitter page setup in her name, which features a whole host of links pointing users to kinky sex websites.
The fake page has duped other celebrities such as Chris Moyles, and TV star Stephen Fry, with its personal one-line bio reading “singer, dancer, judge and climber – in that order!!”
Chris Moyles fell for the page after he saw the page announce “Cheryl Cole is now on Twitter!!!“. He sent the supposed pop-singer a message, and got one back in reply.
The tricksters are said to have fooled more than 30,000 ordinary “Twitterers” who followed Cheryl’s daily posts avidly. But the followers were more than a little shocked when a web link allegedly posted by the Girls Aloud babe was advertising a website named ‘BeNaughty’, which was a website setup for swingers.
It boasted: “At BeNaughty you can find and meet horny females, males and wild couples to chat and flirt with.” But the whole situation has left Cheryl Cole red-faced with anger after she learnt about it whilst she was with Girls Aloud on their current Out of Control Tour.
Cheryl Cole told The Daily Star: “Its nothing to do with me.” A spokesman for Cheryl Cole clarified that she has not signed up for the social networking site Twitter, therefore the page is most certainly a fake.
“These fake websites keep springing up. As soon as we get one shit down, another one appears. All we can do is warn her fans that there is no official Cheryl Cole Twitter site,” he added.
