In spite the fact that former X Factor winner Joe McElderry was from Newcastle, the city has been removed from the list of The X Factor 2013 audition venues. This follows as the show’s producers want to increase to retain viewers and to overhaul the entire talent competition.
And, former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, 29, who is widely rumored to return possibly to the either The X Factor UK or the USA, isn’t very happy about it.
According to Sunday’s The Daily Star report, top producers of The X Factor has decided to drop Newcastle for this year’s auditions as they fear the city lacks memorable talent. Earlier, Birmingham also has to face the same fate. Last year’s Birmingham auditions witnessed less than 30,000 wannabe singers and talent chiefs don’t want the scenario to be repeated in Newcastle.
Cheryl, 29, won The X Factor alongside Geordie Joe McElderry few years ago. The “Call My Name” singer also has a special connection to Newcastle as she was born there and Joe McElderry talent and dropping Newcastle from the auditions venue has made her very unhappy.
Cheryl is currently embarking on the Girls Aloud “Ten” reunion tour of the UK, which also started from Newcastle on February 21.
