X Factor beauty Cheryl Cole says she would be interested in buying Newcastle United Football Club…. if she could afford it.
The football club has been in financial trouble for some time, with the owner struggling to find a buyer for the club. Mike Ashley put the footy club on the market in May for a cool £100 million, after the teams relegation to the Championship.
Nobodies come forward with any interest to buy the club, and solo artist Cheryl Cole said she would love to buy the club if she had enough money. Despite having a personal fortune of £10 million, it just ain’t enough.
Cheryl Cole married England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole in 2006, he earns just over £3.5 million a year.
Cheryl made the comments while on The Chris Moyles Show earlier this morning, as she was promoting the debut of her first solo single, Fight For This Love. One of the presenters asked Cheryl: “We’ve got a suggestion from one of our listeners – you must have a bit of cash these days, you don’t fancy buying Newcastle United do you, and putting Ashley Cole at left-back?”
Cheryl replied: “You know what – if i had that kind of cash i actually would. I would at this stage.” Cheryl Cole is famously supportive of her home team, as she grew up close-by in Heaton, Newcastle. Her whole family happen to be Newcastle United fans.
