The “Call My Name” singer said Graham Norton it’s a “definite no”, that won’t be returning on the X Factor last month. Simon, however, is giving his best shot by offering her big money so that he can lure her back in on the judging panel.
Meanwhile, bosses are holding talks with series of stars for the show’s 2013 series, though nothing official will be announced until spring. It’s said that Gary Barlow won’t be on the show, and Tulisa Contostavlos, as her dad says, is “bored” of the show.
According to Now Magazine, Sharon Osbourne and Mel B are expected to return, and Cheryl is also wanted for the show’s 10th and last season on ITV1.
“Simon told her she could have £2 million to return,” a source said.
“Simon would love her to return. It makes sense as she was a huge success on the show. Cheryl is a big star…he needs a name like her…What better way to stop the ratings falling,” an insider reported.
Meanwhile, sources suggest that next year’s series could be aired at a different time slot to accommodate Simon’s return on the show. “He even talked about brig the show forward so it doesn’t clash with the US X Factor because he’s considering a comeback himself,” rumored an insider.
