After months of speculation and rumours over whether Dannii Minogue would return to The X Factor for the 2009 series, she has finally agreed a deal with the ITV1 show.
According to an unnamed insider at The X Factor, the Australian judge has confirmed she will be back for her third series after having a holiday with her husband. Dannii Minogue said earlier this week that she’d decide on whether to return to the sixth series of The X Factor after having a holiday.
There have been doubts over whether she would return after reports of rivalry between herself and Girls Aloud judge Cheryl Cole. However an insider has confirmed to a national tabloid the Australian singer would “definitely” be back.
The source commented by saying: “The chances of Dannii making a return were looking exceptionally bleak as recently as a fortnight ago. Now Simon has given the green light for her return. The line-up is going to be exactly the same as last year, despite the speculation. “
“She has had a tough run over the last couple of years and she has no intention of giving up now. Dannii has been playing a clever game on her contract negotiations. She has made it clear she loves the show but hasn’t shown her hand publicly about her desire to return. The contracts will be signed in the next week.“
Simon Cowell‘s company SyCo produces the show, but Simon personally made his feelings clear after informing Dannii he definitely wanted her back on the panel earlier in February. The media mogul said: ‘‘She was great last year and I am adamant she should be there for the next series. All being well, pen will be put to paper this week.‘
Simon has already had signed contracts from ex-Westlife manager Louis Walsh and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, however he was getting worried after not hearing a decision from Dannii Minogue, even after the auditions kicked off last week.
