Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has hit out at Louis Walsh, who filled in for Simon Cowell during the Birmingham rounds of the ITV talent show.
Being used to judging singers on The X Factor, Amanda claims that Louis kept forgetting what show he was on and repeatedly told variety acts that they wouldn’t sell any records.
Holden told This Morning: “Louis was completely different (to Simon) and he was absolutely obsessed with the buzzers.
“He just kept pressing it – it was like some kind of nervous twitch!
“But then he’d be watching jugglers saying ‘you wouldn’t sell records, you wouldn’t sell records’ and we had to remind him that that’s the wrong show.
“He kept using all his X Factor lines on the show that did not work.â€
Amanda also admitted that she and Piers took advantage while their boss was gone. She said:
“We were a little bit more generous – we put things through he probably wouldn’t like to see on the show.â€
Asked if this was done to annoy him, she replied: “Of course.â€
Piers Morgan recently blasted Louis also, claiming that he gave the worst audition of the series. He said:
“I’d have buzzed him off after ten minutes.â€
“Louis came in determined to be the new head judge, and even had a badge made to confirm this.
“But after a day he gave it to me because it was obvious that he is to leadership what Simon is to fragile egos.â€
