The bookies reckon Britain’s Got Talent fans may have already seen this year’s winner after little Chloe Hickinbottom’s opening night performance.

The 10-year-old’s rousing version of Dame Vera Lynn’s White Cliffs of Dover has made her 7-1 favourite – ahead of drummer Kieran Gaffney, who is 10-1, and dancing dog Chandi, who is an outsider at 33-1.

And the bookmakers say Chloe’s tears after getting voted may help her win. David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Chloe has all the ingredients to go all the way.

“It’s always encouraging when there are tears so early in the series. Punters love it when the heart-strings are pulled.”

Chloe, of Wolverhampton, revealed after her star turn: “I wouldn’t even sing in front of my family, they’d only hear me through my bedroom door and think it was a CD.”

Drummer Kieran, 13, only got through to the next stage of the competition after ditching his parents’ band and going solo. But the schoolboy, of Deal, Kent, said: “If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here.”

More than 12 million people saw Saturday’s show, a record and more than tuned in for the leaders’ debate. Judge Piers Morgan joked: “I’m pleased we are marginally more popular than Brown, Cameron and Clegg. Losing a ratings war to them would have been a disaster.”

P.S - What a name! Chloe Hickinbottom!!!!

I do think that she is good and an extremely talented little girl BUT i don't think it is fair to pick a winner when only one audition show has been viewed. Also, does anyone else agree that the song was picked to appeal to the older viewers e.g. the queen.

She's a good singer, but she's not a winner. I doubt she'll get past the boot-camp stages to be honest.

I reckon she will get to the live stages but it will be older people who vote for her, she reminds me a bit of Hollie Steel from last year ... the kid singers never really go anywhere because there is always somebody older who has had more experience etc ... Connie Talbot was amazing and never won ... the little girl Natalie from last year had a cracken R&B voice but didn't get through. Chloe only appeals to one type of person and if they dont vote she cant move up :S
