..and by the way, not all people on council estates live off benefits and have gold teeth. I should know.
Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to generalise the term in any way, and by no means did I intend to suggest that is what it's like on a council estate.
I agree with you Andy on the "A World Cup song is supposed to inspire not only the England team" but I think it'll be good! I mean.. can you remember what the DJ Talent song is? I bet that 9/10 people can.. so hopefully if this does go ahead it will be just as catchy as that and it'll stay in EVERYONES head! I mean Ant and Dec did one, Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle did one and that to me was horrendous. Everyones allowed a try and they should be spurred on to succeed =)
Yeah I know what you mean. It did stick in peoples heads, but whats wrong with not using talented people anymore? I mean, people like Queen, the Beatles, U2, Elvis, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross etc - they didn't get where they are today by making a cathy song that "just sticks in your head."
The did things the hard way. Built up a name for themselves by having REAL talent and REAL drive to succeed at what they did. And why are they now regarded as legends? Because they were outstanding. They did songs which you'd remember 50 years from now.
Not a one-hit-wonder which is popular in the charts for three weeks, only to never be heard again after that. Whats happened to the real talent in our country? Why do we never win Eurovision? Because we send one-hit-wonders like Scooch, Justin Hawkins, Jordan and Andy Scott-Lee etc etc.
