When you're spending New Year's Day sobbing on your sofa because Pat Butcher's dead, it's nice to know you're not the only one, and that actual Cheryl Cole's doing it too. Handy then, that that's what happened last night - and that Cheryl reassured us we weren't alone with a tweet.

Cheryl tweeted that: 'Please tell me I'm not the only person to have shed a tear at #Eastenders?? Is there something wrong with me..? *bbm crying face*'

Cheryl then followed the tweet with the hashtags #Goodbyepat and #endofanearring - which were both trending last night as Twitter went mad after the big EastEnders episode, which saw Pat die from terminal cancer.
