Louis Walsh has launched an astonishing attack on Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle by saying she “needs the band”.
The band’s former manager says Nadine needs to swallow her pride and get back with the band.
Louis, who helped create Girls Aloud in 2002, told heat magazine that NadineCoyle needs to be reunited with her bandmates if she wants furthersuccess as a singer.
“I think she needs Girls Aloud. I really do. I think she so needs it.”
Nadine relocated to sunny Californiain 2009 when the group took a break and, ever since, has been dogged byrumours that she is growing apart from her former friends and spendingtoo much time with her sisters.
Accordingto Louis, moving to a different country was a mistake. “The only personwho can sort out the problems is [Nadine], because the other girls areall over here and she’s in LA,” he said.
Since moving to LA with her family, Nadine has been on a mission to carve out her own career, separate from Girls Aloud.
As well as opening an Irish pub with her parents, she has tried to build up hype for her solo album.
These hopes were dealt a blow back in March, however, when the budget for her album was reportedly slashed by record executives. Advertisement - article continues below »
It seems that the big cheeses of the music business just aren’t sure Nadine can cut it by herself, as Cheryl has done.
One source close to Nadine tells heat that, in her heart of hearts, the singer knows her US dream is slipping away. “She’s heartbroken, as she knows she’s not going to break America,” says the source. “They don’t know who she is.”
Louis believes that Nadine needs to swallow her pride and get back to making wonderful pop music with the rest of the group.
“I hope they can work it out,” he told heat.
“They don’t have to like each other, they just have to work together.
Nogirlband really gets on well, because they all want to be theskinniest, they all want to be doing lead vocals and they all want togo out with the most famous footballer.”
According to heat’s source, however, reconciling with her friends will be hard for Nadine: “She counts America as her home now and doesn’t want to come back to UK.
And she knows she can’t go grovelling back to the girls.”
Louisis optimistic the girls can put their differences behind them, though.“I think there’s another album there,” he told heat. “They have to makeone more.”
