Nadine Coyle is releasing her album on her own record label
Nadine Coyle has said she wanted to create her own record label so she could exercise complete creative control.

The Girls Aloud songstress is releasing her debut solo album Insatiable through her own label, Black Pen Records, and has signed a deal with Tesco, who will stock the record exclusively.

"To be able to create an album where you are in complete control of your own work is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an artist," she said.

"So much has changed in the way artists work now. I think we have learned that the traditional model for selling an album isn't the only way of doing things."

Nadine - who co-wrote her debut solo single, also called Insatiable, for Robbie Williams' collaborator Guy Chambers - wanted to wait before releasing her own music.

"It had to be right - it had to be my sound and my songs, and Insatiable feels like that," she said.
