BAD news for Girls Aloud babe Sarah Harding. Her solo album has already hit the skids just weeks into the project.
A bit more Something Kinda Poo, rather than Oooh.
The blonde caner may have sung about Calling The Shots with her four bandmates. But it appears she is struggling to get her own way with her solo career.
My source close to Girls Aloud’s liveliest member told me: “Unlike Cheryl and even Nadine’s solo efforts, Sarah’s has been really diffi ult to get off the ground. She has fi nally started having meetings with producers and management over the last few weeks but it seems that no one can agree on what direction to take her in.”
When I last caught up with the lovely Harding last month she told me: “I’m really looking forward to having the freedom to do my own thing.
“In the band we all have a say but we have to compromise. Now I can do exactly what I want.”
But unfortunately for the party animal that’s not proving to be true. My insider added: “Sarah wants to go for an adult, rock sound but her label is worried that it won’t sell.
They want her to stick with her pop roots.
“It’s her label that is putting in all the money to back the project so it seems they will get their own way. One compromise being discussed is a dance/Lady Gaga type album, which Sarah is warming to.”
But she had better get a move on if stories from the GA camp about the group reforming in September are true.
Because if she isn’t careful her solo career will be a Whole Lotta History before it even gets started.
