Although she's been totally ignored by satirists until now, Girls Aloud's blonde bikini babe Sarah Harding today proved beyond any doubt that she's a spoofer's dream by announcing plans to rejuvenate her career as the new Lady Gaga!
Sarah Harding didn't go into any great depth as to how exactly she plans to achieve her goal, but it looks to most observers like she'll be facing an uphill struggle.
Indeed, the only thing the two appear to have in common is that they both dress unusually. Lady Gaga wears outrageous designs guaranteed to get people talking, whereas Sarah Harding wears a bikini at every opportunity, including doing the shopping we're told. But not from Tesco's, from where she's apparently banned for dress code violations.
Lady Gaga can actually sing - which is more than the Girls Aloud ensemble could ever do, which is why they have in the past and continue to do as solo artistes, lip synched. Badly. Terribly in fact.
Lady Gaga also has an aura of mystery surrounding her. She's probably an empty suit in reality, but by not saying too much about anything at all of any import, she keeps the people guessing. Sarah Harding, in contrast, knows just about everything there is to know about bikinis. Including collecting bikinis, and getting the right bikini at the right price on EBay.
Harding's band mate Cheryl Cole expressed her support for Sarah's endeavours towards relaunching herself as the new Gaga by saying that there must be a niche in the market for a chick in a bikini who can't actually sing, making the big time as a singer. After all, Cheryl is a chart topper who can't sing, and can't even lip synch worth a ****, so she's talking from experience.
