Girls Aloud recently recorded a hit which is to be released later this month on a special compilation CD by HMV.
Girls Aloud, The Saturday and Sugababes have all contributed cover versions for the album, which will be released by music retailer HMV on October 26th 2009.
‘My Inspiration‘ is the name of the disk, and its format is one where popular recording artists of today, perform a cover version of a track which inspired them most in their careers.
Girls Aloud recorded their own version of ‘Broken Strings’ by James Morrisson, which is a hit they performed on their sold-out Out of Control Tour earlier this year.
Sugababes recorded a Stevie Wonder track, ‘For Once In My Life’, which they recorded prior to the departure of founding member Keisha Buchanan recently. The Saturdays have included their recent cover of ‘Beggin’.
James Morrison has recorded Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in The Mirror’, while Frankmusik covered ‘Rehab’ by Amy Winehouse.
Other acts who have also contributed to the album include VV Brown, Amy MacDonald, The Maccabees, Florence and the Machine, Gary Go, Stereophonics and The Noisettes.
Pick your copy up at all HMV stores on 26th October 2009.
