After Girls Aloud won their first Brit Award last night for best British single, they were told how Jade Goody wanted them to sing at her wedding this weekend.
Upon hearing the news, the girls vowed they WILL sing at cancer-stricken Jade Goodys wedding. The girls, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts, both 23, and Cheryl Cole, 25, Kimberley Walsh, 27, and Sarah Harding, have become huge fans of brave Goody.
An insider said yesterday “The girls were moved to tears upon hearing Jade Goodys plea for a performance at her wedding.“
The private gig is expected to put a huge smile on the face of 27-year-old Jade, who is marrying fiance Jack Tweed this weekend. The wedding has been very ‘rushed’ from the outset after doctors told Jade last month there was no longer anything they could do to prevent her cervical cancer from spreading to other organs.
At Brit Awards, Sarah confirmed that the band would be doing everything in their power to get to her wedding. “We have had contact from Jades people about performing at her wedding and its now in the hands of our management” the Daily Star quoted her, as saying.
“We are desperately trying to re-arrange our schedule so we can do it. Its a very sad thing to have to discuss, she added.“
