Girls Aloud’s track “The Promise” is one of the groups most successful ever singles, and now holds an extra special place in their hearts by helping them walk away with their first ever Brit Award. After being outrageously beaten to Best Pop by James Blunt a few years ago, they have finally been recognised by Britain’s number one music awards – and it’s all thanks to their legion of amazing fans!
Britain’s favourite all girl group won Best Single for ‘The Promise‘ at tonight’s ceremony with Sarah exclaiming: “it’s about time” – and rightly so!!!!!
The girls were one of the last groups to walk up the red carpet, but when they did, they stole the show. The UK’s most glamorous girls looked gorgeous in their co-ordinated outfits, and told reporter Sarah Cox they were extremely excited about the night.
Red Carpet Arrival
As i mentioned above, Girls Aloud were performing their single, ‘The Promise’ at tonight’s award ceremony; the girls hit the stage right after U2′s performance, with their outstanding rendition of ‘The Promise’. Complete with bright pink feathers, dancers in white suits and the girls in skimpy golden outfits. They truly stole the show in terms of best performance of the evening.
Performance
Girls Aloud hoped to walk away with Best Group, but ‘Elbow’ stole that from the girls, who also fought off favourites Coldplay. The girls fought there way through several rounds of public voting, and beat the competition on the night. The nominations for best single was Coldplay‘s “Viva La Vida”, Duffy‘s “Mercy”, Leona Lewis‘ “Better in Time” and Scouting for Girls “Heartbeat” but Girls Aloud walked away with their much-deserved award.
