Jedward Are Inline for £1 Million Recording Contract

Jedward Make X Factor Final Say what you want about Jedward on The X Factor, they definitely have thick skin. Not only have they lasted this long, but have received more negative press than any of the other contestants put together.

Jedward defied the odds last night, making it through for another week on The X Factor, after their army of fans voted in force for them. The 18-year-old X Factor Twins are now firm favourites to make it to the final next month.

And insiders are tipping them to follow in the footsteps of Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke by taking the crown and the lucrative recording contract. The twins even won praise from Simon Cowell for the first time on Saturday after they performed Vanilla Ice’s version of Queen’s Under Pressure.

Simon Cowell said: “You have to give them credit because they have behaved with dignity. They haven’t whined, they haven’t complained about a conspiracy, they have just got with it and kept the smile on their face. I know I have been tough on them, but I actually quite like them.”

Their mentor Louis Walsh, 57, said the show would be boring if they had been kicked out. “They sing, they dance, they entertain and the young kids love them. They are the fun on this show and it would be boring without them. I think they can win now.

But Louis Walsh expects they will sign a mega-bucks deal – even if they go out next week. He added: “There is huge interest in them and they’ll be making pop records and having the time of their lives. As far as I’m concerned they have won already, because they have proved Simon wrong.

The lads have divided the nation. While picking up a string of celeb fans like Robbie Williams and DJ Calvin Harris, but they have also faced fierce criticism. The pair, alongside “proper” singers including Stacey Solomon, 20, Danyl Johnson, 27 and Olly Murs, 25, have also helped ITV get record ratings for the show.

More than 14million tuned in on Saturday night and last night’s results show was expected to be watched by over 16m fans. An insider said: “The twins have been the real winners and everyone expects them to make the final now.
