Now I’m starting to understand why Simon Cowell Saved Jedward a few weeks ago, and why he said “Ill miss you guys” when they were voted out last weekend.
Jedward are responsible for earning Simon Cowell an extra £10 million pounds as The X Factor 2010 Tour was extended by 17 extra dates due to popular demand for tickets.
Many dates for the February to April Tour sold out in hours, and it’s all down to John and Edward Grimes, bosses say. They have bumped up the number of shows from 37 to a massive 54, making it easily the biggest X Factor Tour in history.
An insider from the tour’s promoters said: “The Jedward factor has shot sales through the roof. We’ve had a surge in families wanting to take their youngsters.“
Due to the extra 17 tour dates, there are an additional 150,000 tickets available, priced at £30 each, that will earn Simon’s firm Syco and promoter CAA more than ten million more.
And it will also earn £50,000 more for EACH of the acts. That means for the 54 concerts, each act with take home £150,000. That’s a massive £2,700 PER concert for the acts.
The eight act’s going on The X Factor Tour include…
- Danyl Johnson
- Lloyd Daniels
- Stacey Soloman
- Joe McElderry
- Olly Murs
- Lucie Jones
- Jamie Archer
And they better be in good shape, as they will often be doing two shows per day for 2 months. For tickets contact 24-hour ticket hotline: 0870 735 5000 www.bookingsdirect.com
