Joe McElderry received a standing ovation from all four X Factor judges last night, as he performed a perfect rendition of George Michael and Elton John’s duet of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
The performance did spark another spat between Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. Louis said: ”That was definitely the best performance of the night. You’ve got great appeal. Madam’s broken the rules because that was an Elton John song.“
Simon blasted his comments, saying: “Here’s a new rule. We’re going to stop you from speaking. After this young kid gets up on stage and does the performance of his life, absolutely 100 per cent nailed the song, and you’ve got the audacity to sit there with your silly stupid rule book and say he only sang half the song. Who cares what you think?“
