Joe McElderry might have been left heart broken after he lost out on the chance to be No1 last weekend, but he is now outselling Rage Against The Machine by two to one.
The X Factor’s 18-year-old winner had to deal with his cover of The Climb being the ONLY X Factor winner in the shows history to not go in at number one. But the Internet campaign for RATH has now lost momentum after their impressive win, and is now trailing well behind.
The heavy metal rock group have sold 40,000 copies of Killing In The Name since Sunday, while Joe McElderry – The Climb has sold 80,000 copies in the same amount of time.
But those who are hoping Joe McElderry will bag the number one spot in the chart this weekend better not hold their breath, as Joe’s mentor Cheryl Cole’s second solo single, 3 Words has been released, and is very likely to go straight in at number one.
As always, we’ll update you on the mid-week single sales as soon as figures are released.
Who do you think will go in at number one this week? Cheryl Cole? Joe McElderry? Or neither of them? Leave your comments below…
