Well, to be fair its been predicted for over 6 weeks now that Joe McElderry will win The X Factor 2009, the bookies have been saying it, we have been saying it and the press have been saying it. And tonight, we were all proved right as Joe McElderry stole the crown, with Olly Murs following close behind.
After Joe McElderry performed a stunning duet of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me with George Michael last night, he secured his place in the final. His last few performances tonight were proof, if ever you needed it, that Joseph McElderry deserved to walk home with the £1 million record contract.
And the winners single, originally a Miley Cyrus song is now re-released as Joe McElderry – The Climb. Its a massive ballad, which was quite obviously chosen for him. Olly performed it well, but big ballads are what Joe is good at, and I can honestly see this record selling a million copies. He is almost guaranteed the Christmas number 1 spot, but can he top Alexandra Burke’s half a million sales? Only time will tell.
And Cheryl Cole can celebrate tonight, as she mentored her act, Joe, an act she believed in from day one, all the way to winning the show. Cheryl has only been on The X Factor for two years, and now she’s won two years on the trot. If Cheryl Cole does come back for another series next year, you can bet your bottom dollar that she’ll be on a damn lot more than her current £1.2 million salary. You can also bet that Simon Cowell was seriously pissed off that he lost the series again!!!

You have no idea how happy i am. I knew he had something special from his first audition. I had a feeling he was gonna win. He deserved to win. luv him and cheryl so so so much. Joe and Cheryl are so close now to call each other brothers and sisters.

Team Cheryl 2 win!!! Joe had my vote all the way as well! I'm so glad 1 of my 3 acts won last year. Joe is a lot, lot better than Olly & Stacey; Olly & Stacey r not strong enough. In fact, Joe, Lucie & Lloyd r so talented that they r a lot, lot better than Olly & Stacey. Cheryl deserves 2 win cuz she's the best judge in the whole wide world and u know it!!
