Stunning opera singer Katherine Jenkins is to follow in the footsteps of X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, after landing a £100,000 deal to be a judge on a brand new ITV talent show.
The Welsh opera singer is to appear on the new Saturday night singing contest, which is yet to be named.
Myleen Klass is believed to be the host of the prime time TV show, and it’s to follow the same format of Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, with celebrities learning how to become opera singers.
It’s thought that the celebrities taking part will already be musical performers and have some vocal talent. A source told a national tabloid: “Katherine and the panel will advise singers how to take on opera. Each week someone will be voted off. With her classical background, Myleen is probably the ideal host.“
The judging panel is believed to be made up of three judges, with Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts and tenor Russell Watson tipped as male judges.
A spokesman for ITV confirmed that the programme was planned for next year but said details have not been finalised
