When asked by Dermot O’Leary, both Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell predicted that Lloyd would be given the boot this evening, while Cheryl and Dannii refused to name someone specifically, instead insisting all acts could be in trouble.
Lloyd Daniels failed to win over enough viewers with his performances of Take That’s A Million Love Songs and Elton John’s Im Still Standing on last nights show. Now Lloyd has gone, it means Simon is the only judge with two acts left in their category, while Cheryl and Dannii each have one remaining act. Louis no longer has any acts remaining in the competition.
16-year-old Lloyd has endured relentless criticism from the Louis and the public in recent weeks, with Louis describing him as ‘karaoke’ before his exit this evening. The X Factor Betting Odds have also predicted Lloyd Daniels was due to leave the show for the last four weeks running, but he managed to defy the odds and remained in the competition.
But Lloyd’s mentor Cheryl Cole urged him to be proud of his achievements before he left the show this evening, insisting he has a bright future ahead of him: “He is only 16 – he has got loads of time to blossom into a real star.“
After learning of his fate, Lloyd fought back the tears as he told Xtra Factor host Holly Willoughby: “I have enjoyed every moment.“
The X Factor now has four remaining finalists, who will battle it out for the £1 million recording contract. Olly Murs, Joe McElderry, Stacey Soloman and Danyl Johnson remain in the show, but which one of them will win The X Factor 2009? Leave your comments below…
