Cheryl Cole may be the darling of the fashion crowd, but she made a rare faux pas on The X Factor on Saturday evening, sporting a bizarre fan-style dress that looked more like a halloween costume.
The sexy X Factor judge caused a stir on the show, as she donned a £1,500 black and silver concoction by David Koma, an up-and-coming designer.
The skin-tight dress featured metal piping snaking across the bodice, with most people describing the dress as a pair of alloy wheels, or dustbin lids. And the dress appeared to be a little difficult to wear, with Simon Cowell at one point telling Cheryl she’d be “better to sit up“. When asked why, Cowell replied: “You’ll see why,” which prompted Cheryl to rearrange to protect her modesty.
What the cameras did not see, was when Mrs Cole’s face contorted in fury as she slapped Simon on the thigh saying: “Why did you do that to me?” A source from The X Factor said: “Cheryl was furious that Simon decided to make his remark on live TV, she felt he could have alerted her to the issue with her dress off camera.”
After a fair bit of negative reaction to the dress from so-called ‘fans’ on Twitter and The X Factor forums, Cheryl decided to tone her outfit down a little on last nights results show, wearing an asymmetrical black top and pair of sparkly ‘jeggings’.
Cheryl tries to make an impact on every show and works hard with her personal stylist Frank Strachan, who has also worked with the likes of Kylis Minogue. This series, she has been under more pressure than normal as her fellow judge Dannii Minogue has hired a new stylist and is starting to win ‘Battle of The Babes: Dannii vs Cheryl‘.

i actually quite like the dress i mean i wouldnt wear it but i thiink cheryl looks nice i mean when doesnt she? i dont know why people are going on like that most people have awful clothes tht they wear x

I don't think there's anything wrong with the dress to be honest. It's special, we've never seen anything like it. It was unique and she looks good in it. I think she looks stunning, but i mean, when doesnt she.
I luv the look, it doesnt matter what people say, if you feel good in it, then go with it. Everyone has different comments about everything.
