Good news has just landed in my inbox. As a massive Queen fan, news has just been released that Simon Cowell has changed The X Factor live show Week 6′s theme from Dance Week to Queen Week.
This is a bit of a strange choice considering it was Rock Week only two weeks ago, and also the fact that this weeks celebrity guest is in no ways rock related, Shakira. Despite this, inside sources suggest that Jedward will be taking on one of Queens biggest hits, Radio Ga Ga. Freddie will truly be turning in his grave!!!
Insiders at the show have told The Sun: “Simon made the decision late on Sunday night to go with something more theatrical. He loves Queen and knows that the wannabes will recognize at least one of their hits. He wants bigger entrances and bigger performances from all of them. It doesn’t get much bigger than pretending to be Queen’s late singer Freddie Mercury.“
Im going to go out on a limb here, because Simon could now be accused of favouritism by choosing this theme. It suit’s his acts much more than any of the other acts. One source said: “This change of plan has come as no surprise to many of us as this benefits Simon’s acts. Jamie will be brilliant singing a Queen hit, as will Danyl.“
The source continued: “But it might prove difficult for Stacey Soloman or Lloyd Daniels. Im sure the twins will have no problem with it.”
So fans, which Queen tracks should The X Factor contestants choose? Is Danyl Johnson bold enough to sing Bohemian Rhapsody? Leave your comment below…
