Now, the show’s popularity is in a downward spiral. So, to stop its further decline the show’s producer Simon Cowell is bringing back them again. In fact these are the people who made the singing talent show that it is today.
Minogue and Cheryl are both set to come back on the X Factor judging table. This means that show will get back its original line-up of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell. However, Cowell will appear on the show occasionally as the music mogul will be busy promoting the show in the US.
So, Minogue and Cheryl will join them instead. Both of former judges left their roles in recent years but since then they patched things up with Cowell.
The Sun newspaper citing an insider said, the show’s first three season success can be contributed to the “original British talent” and the interaction between the judges. Now, it’s turned into a circus freak show with the puppet master pulling his strings from the other side of the Atlantic. So it seems like Cowell has only one option to rescue the show from the jaws of defeat and that’s to bring back the original judges.
Last week’s show attracted 8.4 million viewers which is 200,000 lower than the earlier week.
No wonder, ITV bosses have cautioned Cowell the entire series will be shelved if no improvements are made.
