Cheryl Cole’s X Factor boss and friend, Simon Cowell has urged her to reduce her hectic work schedule, saying he’s concerned for her health.
The Girls Aloud singer has thrown herself into work since her split from Ashley in February, following allegations of infidelity. In the last few months, Cheryl has been on a European promotion tour, was ill with bronchitis, has had to deal with media scrutiny, and recently went on tour with the Black Eyed Peas.
While Simon Cowell thinks Cheryl’s work ethic is admirable, he is concerned she hasn’t confronted her personal problems. Cheryl is due to start work on the next series of The X Factor in the next few weeks, and he’s worried she is not adequately prepared for it.
“Simon is supportive of Cheryl but he feels she needs to start getting focused on The X Factor’s return. Simon is worried she’s been doing too much. He wants her to take some time out and get her head in the right place,” a source close to Cowell, said.
But friends of Cheryl’s insist the star is ready to return to the programme. She apparently finds it easiest to concentrate on her work when her private life is tumultuous as it gives her a sense of control. Cheryl is also worried about gossip on her personal life, and hops her fans will focus on the show and not her when it returns to our screens.
“She is scared that everyone will be talking and speculating about her,” a source explained to the publication. “It’s a high-pressure situation.”
