The 53-year-old music mogul not only wants the former Girls Aloud star to return to the show, who was infamously axed from the US version of the show after a few auditions, but he is also enticing Rita, 22, to create a “dream team”, which he calls the “female dream team”, according to The Sun.
A source told the newspaper that Simon is a huge fan of Rita, and she’s at the top of his list with Cheryl. The source also told that he offered Rita the offer before, but she didn’t take saying she wasn’t ready for it, but now she is. Simon is planning big for the next year’s X Factor, and it’s very likely that he’ll be back, and Cheryl and Rita will be his dream team, the source added.
Meanwhile, Gary Barlow is expected to announce that he’ll leave the show, and Simon will probably return due to rumors that the “The X Factor USA” will be axed because of poor ratings. The Sun reported that Sharon Osbourne will also leave the show after doing a single series, and Nicole Scherzinger will mostly be fired to make way for Cheryl, while Louis Walsh will remain in the show, despite previous announcements that he will quit after this year’s series.
However, these new reports of Rita will be judging The X Factor contradicts previous reports by The Sun which suggested that Dannii Minogue would retain her judging role, after she quit the show in 2010.
So, who will be in the final lineup of The X Factor 2014? Until, ITV makes an official announcement, it’s anybody’s guess.
