Sky TV denies rumors that Cheryl Cole was offered a chat show

Sky TV, the satellite television broadcaster has brushed aside rumors that Cheryl Cole was offered an Oprah Winfrey inspired chat show on one of their TV channels.

There have been reports in a The Daily Star newspaper citing a source, that Sky1 was “desperate” to land the former X Factor judge to host a chat show by the channel.

The source was quoted as saying, “They’ve been in talks for a while and believe they will have wrapped up the deal within the next month. They think she could be the UK’s Oprah because of her reputation as the nation’s sweetheart and are willing to pay big bucks to get her on board.”

But the Sky TV broadcasters immediately dismissed the rumors.

A Sky representative told Vogue’s website, “Cheryl is a great talent and we are fans of her here at Sky. But we do not have anything planned at the moment.”

The Girls Aloud singer has actively looking for TV roles after she was axed from the US version of the X Factor.
