Although the new format for The X Factor has caused some controversy, it’s proved to be very popular judging by the viewing figures.
But this week is The X Factor Final, and that means they are once again changing the format slightly. Rather than giving the result to all three contestants on Sunday, they will be giving one the boot on Saturday, leaving just two acts in the finale.
Stacey Soloman, Joe McElderry and Olly Murs are the only remaining contestants in the nail-biting season which has seen talent such as Lucie Jones, Danyl Johnson, and dare I say it, Jedward get the boot.
The soap-opera like drama has accompanied the show all season, a season which has seen Simon Cowell dress down judge Dannii Minogue for her Gay Slur to Danyl Johnson, and backstage crisis talks where Simon ordered Cheryl and Dannii to spend more time on their acts, and less time on their looks.
The dividing of the finale over two nights is a first for The X Factor. After the contestants perform solo and with their celebrity guests, Robbie Williams, George Michael and Sir Paul McCartney – the phone lines will be opened up.
The three acts have already recorded their version of the winners single, Miley Cyrus’ smash hit, The Climb.
